938LIVE Broadcast Journalist (Sports)

You will be responsible in gathering, reporting and/or editing sports news for radio news bulletins, as well as producing and presenting sports talk shows on 938LIVE. Duties include:

- Source and generate story ideas and leads, and pitch stories to programme editors by monitoring newswires for breaking stories and updates; keeping track of the latest developments and trends in current affairs; and identifying stories for follow-up

- Manage the content of assigned programmes by researching news items and establishing useful contacts, and supervising the editing of the final tape

- Maintain listeners’ satisfaction standards by gathering, editing and reporting news for radio news bulletins on air within established standards

- Oversee the production of assigned programmes by deciding upon the best order for stories within the programme, based upon their nature; preparing exact timings for reading of each news item and monitoring timings during broadcast; making necessary changes during the programme; and giving technical direction

Requirements:
- Possess a university degree with excellent written and spoken English
- Possess a good voice and a strong passion in sports
- Excellent knowledge of both the local and international Sports scene
- Dynamic and outgoing personality
